Bear Gets the Best of Marty

Funnyman Marty Allen says a quick but heartfelt prayer before climbing into the ring with Ben, a 450 pound American brown bear, during the "Circus of the Stars." Ben rears up to his full height of 6-foot-2 and wraps the zany comedian in a big bear hug, then quickly brings him to his knees. The "Circus of the Stars" was filmed at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and will air on CBS December 13th 1981

Bug-eyed Marty Allen seemed amazed that he could keep a plate spinning on a stick while practising for the CBS "Circus of the Stars" special. But viewers will see Marty actually keep eight plates spinning on the show that airs December 2 - only to have them all crash to the ground. Of the shattering experience, Marty cracked, "Dem's the breaks!"

Aired December 14th 1980
